Dating can activate some of our clients' most deeply held schemas and familiar coping responses, often at the very time they are trying to make important decisions about connection, compatibility and relationships.
In this 90-minute live webinar for therapists, I'll explore the concept of Dating Personas (or dating modes), that I've identified through my clinical and coaching work with women navigating dating and recurring relationship patterns.
We'll look at how these different modes can show up in dating, the schemas and emotional needs that sit beneath them, and how attempts to find or maintain connection can sometimes inadvertently work against the very connection our clients are seeking.
We'll explore how dating modes can influence attraction, responses to uncertainty and rejection, boundaries, emotional availability and relationship decision-making, and how they can contribute to recurring unhealthy relationship patterns that clients desperately want to understand and break.
Most importantly, we'll look at how we can help clients recognise when a dating mode has taken over, understand the schemas driving it, and strengthen their Healthy Adult Mode so they can approach dating with greater awareness, self-trust and discernment.
In this webinar, we'll explore:
- Common Dating Personas and how they present in dating and early relationships
- The schemas, unmet needs and coping responses that can drive these modes
- How dating modes can unintentionally undermine healthy connection
- How different modes influence attraction, attachment, boundaries and relationship choices
- Why clients can find themselves repeating painful patterns despite consciously wanting something very different
- Practical ways to help clients identify and understand their own dating modes
- How to strengthen Healthy Adult functioning in dating, so clients can make more grounded and self-supportive relationship choices Â
