My Background and Experience
Before transitioning fully into coaching, I spent nearly three decades working as a psychologist across a wide range of settings, including mental health services, research and academia, education and training, corporate consulting and private practice.
I established my own private practice in 2001, specialising in schema-based work. While this included supporting people with mental health concerns, a significant focus of my work has always been on relationships, emotional patterns and helping people live with greater authenticity and freedom.
Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of individuals navigating relationship difficulties, self-doubt, people-pleasing, emotional disconnection and deeply ingrained patterns formed early in life. This breadth of experience has given me a very clear sense of what helps and what does not when it comes to creating real change.
How I Work Now
Today, my work is focused on schema-informed coaching for women who want to break long-standing relationship patterns and strengthen their self-worth and authenticity.
I am known for being able to:
-
Identify core emotional patterns and schemas quickly
-
Help clients make sense of their experiences without pathologising them
-
Get to the heart of what is actually maintaining a pattern
-
Support change that feels integrated rather than forced
I work in a focused, relational way, helping clients understand the “why” beneath their patterns and then supporting them to relate to themselves and others differently.
My aim is not to keep people in long-term work, but to help them build clarity, confidence and an internal compass they can rely on.
My Philosophy
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: most people are not stuck because they are failing or lacking insight. They are stuck because old mostly unconscious emotional patterns continue to operate in the background.
I see my role as helping clients gently decode these patterns, understand how they developed and begin to loosen their hold. When we understand the emotional logic of a pattern, we can work with it rather than against it.
I am particularly passionate about helping women find their voice, honour their needs and live in a way that feels aligned rather than effortful. Change, when done well, does not require pushing or fixing. It requires understanding, compassion and the right framework.
